Kato claims Japanese title in difficult circumstances

Yokohama OSC’s Taichi Kato won his first national title on the weekend, beating Suguru Fujino of FC Yurakucho Sunzeol in dramatic circumstances.

With full health and safety regulations in place, the tournament was staged in the Yokohama club’s headquarters amidst the concerns of COVID-19.

Japan national association (NOSK) President Kenzo Koi, himself a health professional, ensure the best environment for all players, who also had to wear personal protective equipment.
