The Malta table football sports association organized the FISTF MALTA International Open 2020 on Saturday 19 December with a reduced number of participants because only Maltese players took part
after what was supposed to be organized in May did not take place due to the lockdown in the country.
Samuel Bartolo of Valletta SC won in the final against the promising youngster of Palermo CT Jamie Bonnici 3-2 in the Open category. In the semi finals Bartolo beat Mark Gauci of Valletta SC 4-3 and Bonnici beat Jean Tabone of Barcelona Mortelito CT 2-1.
In the Veterans category it was Jason Pisani of Master Sanremo who beat Mario Camilleri of Valletta SC 1-0 . In the semi finals Pisani beat Joseph Mifsud of Valletta Lions TFC 2-0 and Camilleri beat Charles Aquilina of Bormla SC 3-1.
The Under 15 Category winner was Thomas Ebejer who, after winning all the games, then in the final beat Jeshua Bonnici Valletta Lions TFC 5-3 .
On Saturday evening saw the start of Teams competition, with Valletta SC beating Bormla sc 1-0. They followed this up with a win 4-0 against H’Attard sc and 3-0 against Valletta lions tfc. Runners up
Bormla sc beat H’Attard sc 4-0 and an other identical 4-0 win over Valletta lions tfc. Valletta sc were composed of Samuel Bartolo, Derek Conti, Mark Gauci, Mario Camilleri, Angelo Borg and Joseph Borg Bonaci.
On Sunday 20th December the FISTF Grand Prix was held where in the Open category Bartolo beat Charles Aquilina of Bormla sc 2-1. The semi finals saw Bartolo beat Pisani of 2-0 and Aquilina beat Mark Gauci of Valletta sc 2-1.
In the Under-15 category Thomas Ebejer of Bormla sc won the final against Jayden Bonnici of Valletta lions tfc 1-0.
