Carlos Flores ( (F. Lli Bari Reggio Emilia/ESP) claimed his 23rd Major with a breathtaking victory in Frameries.
Flores beat Italian Alessandro Amatelli (Subbuteo Casale) 4-3 in the final, winning 8 matches along the way, scoring an incredible 62 goals and conceding 15.
Among the amazing results on the day was the “goal festival” against former female world champion Delphine Dieudonne, with a final score of 14-5.
As Delphine commented afterwards: “It was a goals festival. Thank you for this memory against an unmatched “monster” of our discipline.
Carlos himself was amazed by his result. “Winning my first Major was something magical, winning the twenty-third is something I would never have imagined. The years go by but the desire to compete and overcome myself remain intact, thank you very much to all who have congratulated me both in person and by phone.
Massimo Cremona (SC Charleroi/MLT) claimed the Veterans title with a 3-2 shots win against Carlo Alessi (Master Sanremo/ITA) after scores were locked 3-3.
In the women’s event, France’s Audrey Herbaut (SC Champs) beat Lea Despretz (Hennuyer) 4-0, while in the U20, Corentin Bouchez (Eugies/BEL) beat Francesco Manfradelli (Napoli/ITA) 6-2.
In the U16s, Jérôme Cyganek (Hennuyer/BEL) beat Robert Randon (HÁttard/MLT) 6-3 and Max Pereira (Ken Invicta/ENG) claimed the U12 event, beating Diego Vergone (Lions Sugies/BEL) 4-0.
In the teams event, Valletta SC (MLT) beat F.Lli Bari Reggio Emilia (ITA) 3-1 in the final.
