As mentioned in the Handbook and the FORM04, 3 possible dates per event are requested in order to build a calendar as balanced as possible.
Following the letter already sent to MNAs on June 23, 2024, we remind you that In accordance with section 2.7 of the draft FISTF Official Handbook for season 2024-25, the FISTF Board is pleased to invite each MNA to submit Form 04, the form to request a FISTF event, for Major Grand Prix, Golden Grand Prix, Grand Prix, International Open and Satellite tournaments
for the 2024–25 competition season, which will run from September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025.
The deadline for submission of forms is 11.59pm Paris time on Friday, August 4, 2024. However, to build the calendar for next season as quickly as possible and in this way help players and organisers to plan their trips and the organisation, among other things, of national events, MNAs need not wait until August 4 to submit their forms. Please submit your requests as soon as they are ready.
Please note the following important points:
– Form 04 can only be submitted by MNAs and not by individual tournament organisers or clubs.
– The form is downloadable from the FISTF website: https://fistf.com/technicalpages/documents-library/. Please note that an individual form must be submitted for eachevent being requested. For European events, Form 04 asks tournament organisers/MNAs to suggest THREE (3) dates in order of preference for each tournament. In this way, if several tournaments
are proposed for the same date by different MNAs, the Board will apply the dates flexibly for a better balance in the construction of the calendar.
– It is not necessary for MNAs to submit a form for events taking place after 1 September 2024 which have previously been approved by the FISTF Board (unless the organiser wishes to change the date or the venue of the already approved event).
– Tournaments already approved to take place after 1 September 2024 will count towards each MNA’s total allocation of tournaments for the 2024-25 season that is, one Grand Prix, one Golden Grand Prix (if applicable), two International Opens and three Satellites. For example, an MNA with one International Open already approved in the FISTF calendar will only be able to apply for an additional one International Open in season 2024-25.
In the interests of managing the calendar effectively, including avoiding clashes of larger tournaments, the rules for construction of the FISTF calendar set out in section 2.7 of the FISTF Official Handbook will be strictly applied. These include:
The deadlines for requesting events:
Grand Prix – 4 months before the date of the tournament,
International Opens – 2 months before the date of the tournament,
Satellite Tournaments – 2 weeks before the date of the tournament.
Avoiding clashes of all Grand Prix events with other tournaments.
In Europe, the third weekend every month (except for June, July, and August) should be free of Major, Grand Prix and International Open tournaments. Only Satellite tournaments can be scheduled for the third weekend of a month in Europe.
While organisers in Europe are required to provide three dates in order of preference that would suit them for each tournament, tournaments proposed to take place on the same date as in previous years as a first preference are more likely to be approved.
Once completed, each Form 04 must be signed and submitted by the MNA to the FISTF Sports Director at https://fistf.com/contact/contact-fistf-for-operations-sportcalendar-rankings/. Please do not email the form to the Board or to an individual Board member.
Any Form 04 received after 4 August or not sent according to the methods indicated above will not be considered valid.
The draft calendar for season 2024 – 25 (showing tournaments which have already been approved) will be available at FISTF.com shortly and will be updated from time to time. The first version of the full FISTF calendar for season 2024–25 will be published no later than 18 August 2024, and will be updated on a monthly basis thereafter as additional tournament applications are received and approved.
The FISTF Board reserves the right to communicate any assignments prior to 18 August.
