New Zealand joins the FISTF family

FISTF has admitted the New Zealand Subbuteo Association as a Provisional Member (MNA-P).
This has been a process over a number of years, as the game grew organically in Aotearoa – ‘The Land Of The Long White Cloud’ – with centres of activity in Palmerston North and Auckland.
Consistent work by Asian Vice President Adrian Connolly has encouraged players, and in the last few years the Northern Line Flickers TFC have taken things to the next level, led by Richard Edeson.

Richard played in the 2023 Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne, and was joined by Conrad Mudge at the 2024 event in Sydney – giving them further impetus to get things organised in New Zealand.

After weeks of work behind the scenes recently, the NZSA were at a point where they could submit a solid application to the FISTF Board, fulfilling all the current requirements of being an MNA-P.
Already there are plans in the works for FISTF events in New Zealand during season 2024-25, with a number of Australian players keen to take part.
Richard and the Auckland players have already reached out to other players around the country, and encourage all players to alert friends and relatives living in New Zealand about the association.
New Zealand will also take part in the 2025 Asian Cup in Sydney once their membership of the Confederation of Asian Sports Table Football Associations (CASTFA) is ratified.
We wish all the best of luck to our newest member.
