A reminder of the communication from the FISTF Board regarding the upcoming deadline for withdrawals from the World Cup 2024.
Please note that the first deadline mentioned in the document sent to all MNAs there are few weeks ago and a reminder sent today, is Friday 6 September. After that date, penalties apply for late withdrawals.
If players are intending on NOT travelling because they were not selected in the draw and are only listed as reserves, we need to know this ASAP and, if possible, by no later than 6 September 2024.
Of course, we also need to know ASAP and before 6 September at the latest, whether players/teams who ARE included in the draw no longer intend to travel to the World Cup. It should be noted that there are penalties for Teams and Individuals included in the draw who withdraw without giving sufficient notice, as outlined in section 2.2.4 of the World Cup Handbook..
Please note: If an individual player listed only as reserve withdraws after 6 September, their MNA will not be penalised, but we onetheless seek your cooperation in advising us of any withdrawals as soon as possible for the reasons outlined above.
