Members may recall that the International Open of Valencia, which was scheduled to take place on 23-24 November 2024, had to be postponed after the devastating floods that struck Valencia in late
October/early November 2024.
At the time, FISTF issued the following statement:
“Words are not enough to describe what is happening in the area of Valencia. Of course table football is a minor aspect in such a case.
FISTF truly understand that this tournament should be postponed.
As a minimum FISTF is offering the chance to choose in the future any other date (in accordance to the Calendar building rules) to organise your upgraded GOLDEN Grand Prix.

The President of the Asociación Española de Fútbol de Mesa (AEFM) has recently contacted the FISTF Board to ask if the rescheduled tournament can take place in Valencia on the weekend of 28- 29 June 2025, due to the availability of the venue (the sports center) at that time, noting that the Major of Athens is scheduled for the same weekend.
The FISTF Board has decided that, due to the exceptional circumstances of this situation, and to honour our previous commitment to our friends in Spain, the Golden Grand Prix of Valencia may proceed on 28-29 June as requested by the organisers, notwithstanding the clash of dates.
We regret any inconvenience to our friends in Greece, but we know that they will understand the situation and we sincerely hope that players will support both events in strong numbers to that they are both a great success.
