Field claims his ‘home’ Grand Prix; kids make a statement in Gibraltar

John Field (Tiburones FM/GIB) took the Gibraltar Grand Prix, beating Antonio Jesús Casín (F.Lli Bari Reggio Emilia/ESP) 2-2 (3-2 on shots) in the Open final.
Casin made the final after beating David González (Bologna Tigers Subbuteo/ESP) 4-3, while Field overcame Wolfgang Haas (Bormla/AUT) 4-2.

The event was the largest GP in Gibraltar for a few years with 54 players, including an impressive 21 players in the U12 category — 2 more than competed in the Open! We’d have to scurry through the records to find the last time that happened. Many congratulations to the AEFM and the Spanish club AC Los Remedios FM for taking their players to the event.
In the U12, Gonzalo Reguera Muñoz (FM La Plazoleta/ESP) took the title from Luis Cruz Gallardo (AC Los Remedios FM/ESP) 3-2.

Antonio Montaño (Tiburones FM/ESP) won the Veterans event against Field 2-1.
Isaac Alfaro (Tiburones FM/ESP) won the U20 event while Manuel Baena (AC Los Remedios FM/ESP) beat Manuel Reguera Muñoz (FM La Plazoleta/ESP) 4-1 in the U16 tournament.

In the Team event, Tiburones FM beat FM La Plazoleta 3-1.
