8.5. In case of draw in a team competition, there will be a sudden death an extra time of 10 minutes and, if needed, a single shoot-out between two players. For the shootout, each team has to decide which player will take part in the shootout.

Angelinas spoke to this, saying instances where two goals on two tables were scored almost simultaneously caused issues. He also suggested that a team may focus on delaying tactics on three tables in the hope a ‘star’ may score. Nasazlyi said that may be a function of the rules, not the format. Varney agreed that the sudden death rule changes the dynamics on the tables. Removing it could result in less negative play in extra time of team matches.
It is important to note this would only apply to team matches.
