Background:

2.3.2(a)(vi) – Proposal to add clarification that any change of nationality becomes effective in the next season

It is proposed to a new Article 2.3.2(a)(vi) which states: “Any change of nationality becomes effective in the next season”.

This is to avoid a change of nationality a couple of months before a world or a continental cup. It happened a lot in world cup 2024.  In this context, it should be noted that these kinds of competitions, even if they are played sometimes in September, are part of the previous seasons.
