2024-12 – AGM 2024 – Resolution 3g – changes to the Official Handbook – 4.2.2(c) – Proposed setting of amounts to be paid in support of larger tournaments

Preamble

Topic: Other proposed changes to the Official Handbook

4.2.2(c) – Proposed setting of amounts to be paid in support of larger tournaments

Proposal: To authorise the Board to amend the Official Handbook, with immediate effect, to formalise and specify the amounts to be paid by FISTF in support of larger, prestigious events.

Background

      • The ‘Accepted Convention’ has been for FISTF to provide financial support to organisers of:
        • World Cup
        • Continental Championships
        • Champions League
        • Europa League
      • There has never been a prescribed amount.
      • Despite numerous donations, there has never been provision to FISTF of a summary of the expenses of the event: ie. What was the money spent on? Was it on trophies, venue hire, technology, publicity, event meals etc.
      • Based on amounts in the last Cycle (four years) these are the figures:
        • World Cup: €2000 maximum
        • Continental Championship (Europe) €1000
        • Champions League €1000
        • Europa League €1000
        • Continental Championship (Rest of the World) €400
      • I propose to formalise these amounts but take a percentage towards a Development Fund.
      • The amounts would then be:
        • World Cup: €1800 maximum
        • Continental Championship (Europe) €900
        • Champions League €900
        • Europa League €900
        • Continental Championship (Res of the World) €400
