2024-12 – AGM 2024 – Resolution 6 – FISTF Board voting

Preamble

Topic: Resolution regarding FISTF Board voting

Background:

The current FISTF Statutes cover the election process for each role independently.
The convention is for candidates to be nominated by their MNA and then each position is voted on.
This allows for instances where directors being elected where they are not always aligned in their ultimate aims for FISTF.

This proposal calls for a significant change in the voting process as per Articles 9, 11 and 12, with the six core board member (CBM) positions proposed as a consolidated, unified ‘ticket’ of six.  The candidates come together under a common agreement and submit their candidacy to the FISTF Secretary General for the Congress.

The Core Board Members are:

      • President;
      • General Secretary;
      • Finance Director;
      • Sports Director;
      • Media Director; and
      • Development Director.

The Unified Ticket must present a list of projects and a clear road map, 8 weeks before the FISTF Congress date.

A minimum of 5 different MNAs must be represented within the CBM.

Each CBM is entitled to appoint a team/committee to assist with the role for which they have been elected.

The CBM can appoint 2 additional Directors:

      • Promotion & Marketing Director; and
      • Special Sports Director.

Main duties of Board member are defined in the Board ‘Job Descriptions’ document on FISTF.com

The CBM can also confirm two non-board positions within FISTF:

      • Website Administration and IT Manager;
      • Operational Secretary.

Members of the ticket may or may not be in their domestic board.
The combined ‘ticket’ must be nominated by the MNA of the proposed candidate who nominates as President, however other members of the ticket do not require the approval of their MNA to be on the ticket.

Each of the proposed Core Board Members must have a significant career in the organisation of table football, either in club, local league or national association, and must not be ranked in the Top 100 players of the FISTF Open or Veterans World Ranking at the time of the Congress, to prevent any self-interest conflicts.

Core Board Members are elected for a period of 4 years by all the MNAs entitled to vote.

A majority of 51% is required.
Internet voting is acceptable.

If passed, this amendment to the Statutes would apply for the 2028 Congress.
