Ashley Tan claims the Singapore Satellite

The Open category of the TFAS Cup saw players vying for the honour of winning the first Sports Table Football tournament of 2026.

The players observed a one minute silence before the start of their matches in honour our pioneer Subbuteo player, Chandru Chugani who passed away earlier in the week. Chandru was a friend and an inspiration to the players who started playing the sport back in the early 1980s. Chandru’s son Vishal was present during the tournament to attend a special memorial in honour of his father. Subbuteo players Ashley Tan, Den Mulia, Vikas Chandiramani, Tan Kok Wee and Kenzo Koi (via a Facebook post) took turns to say a few words about their friendship and experience with Chandru.

In the final against reigning Asian Cup 2025 champion Michael Choong, TFAS Merlion Cup 2025 champion Ashley Tan scored a sudden death goal after a goalless 30 minutes to take his second title in the FISTF calendar year.

TFAS President Tan Kok Wee edged out Rizal Taib 4-2 to take the Plate Final.

In veterans, Michael Choong won followed by Bernard Lim.

In the U20 category, Nagulan Arivazhagan (SG Lions TFC/SGP), the only participant not from Jurong Central SC, won the competition against Edin Reyza Rudy Hesty.
The semi-finalists were Nor Afiq Bin Norizal and Nor Ariq Bin Norizal.

Congratulations to the winners and all who participated in the tournament.
