Flores and Dheur stage breathtaking final at the Major of Milan

World number One Carlos Flores (ESP/Reggio Emilia) and Number 3 Christophe Dheur (BEL/Eagles Napoli) staged one of the finals for the ages at the Milan Major, with Flores coming out on top 7-5.
The first half ended 3-3, after Dheur staged a great fightback from being 3-1 down.

But in the second half they traded goals, with Flores’ speed in attack the deciding factor.
The tournament was an orgy of goal scoring, with 23 goals in the quarter finals.
The Veterans event saw a major upset with reigning world champion and current World No. 2 Giafranco Calonico (ITA/San Remo) going down 5-1 to Gibraltar’s John Field (Tiburones).

 

In the Under 16, World Number 11 Lorenzo Fricano (ITA/Casale) overcame Marco Mastrobuono (ITA/Pavia) 4-3.

In the Under 12, Alberto Baratucci (ITA/Abruzzo) (Rank: 16) beat world ranked No. 6 Alberto Capoferri (ITA/Rebels Genova) 1-0.

In the women’s event. Germany’s Victoria BÜSING (TV Germania Kaiserau) had a flawless day, topping the first round of the grouping, before beating Daniela Grunberg (GER/BSC Schwalbach) 2-0 in the semi final and then Stephanie Garnier (FRA/ Tiburones) 2-1 in the final.

In the Under 20, Francesco Manfredelli (ITA/Eagles Napoli) beat Mattia Ferrante (ITA/ Fiamme Azzurre) 3-2 in the final.
