The Yorkshire English International Open delivered a high-quality weekend of international table football, with decisive knockout matches in the Open and Under-20 categories and a tightly contested round-robin deciding the Women’s event. Across all three competitions, fine margins, disciplined defending and clinical finishing proved decisive.
The Open competition progressed from competitive group stages into a clear-cut knockout phase, where form players asserted their authority. In the semifinals, George Ebejer (MLT/Bormla SC) advanced with a composed 3–0 victory over Olivier Pere (BEL/ASH), while David González (ESP/Bormla) delivered one of the standout performances of the tournament, defeating Rémi Soret (FRA/ASH) 4–0 to book his place in the final.
The Open final lived up to expectations, with González maintaining his momentum to secure a 4–2 win over Ebejer. The result capped a dominant knockout run and confirmed González as Open champion, with Pere and Soret sharing third place.

The Women’s category was decided via a round-robin format, where every match contributed directly to the final standings. Defensive organisation was evident throughout, beginning with a 0–0 draw between Chantal Gallez (BEL/ASJH) and Peggy Giraud (FRA/ASH). Consistency proved decisive, however, with Ruby Matthews (ENG/ASH) recording a 2–0 win over Gallez and a narrow 2–1 victory against Giraud to finish unbeaten and top the standings. Gallez claimed second place ahead of Giraud, with goal margins ultimately separating the field.

The Under-20 event showcased attacking intent and the depth of emerging talent, culminating in a dramatic knockout stage. In the semifinals, Rafaël Midoux (FRA/ASH) edged Matthews 3–2, while Benjamin Marain (BEL/ASH) progressed with a hard-fought 3–2 victory over Louis Soret (FRA/ASH).
The Under-20 final delivered the highest-scoring match of the knockout phase, with Midoux securing the title after a thrilling 4–3 win against Marain. Matthews and Soret shared third place, completing a competitive youth category defined by narrow margins and attacking play.

Bormla SC (Malta), claimed the team event, beating Avenir Subbuteo Hennuyer (BEL) 2-2 (6-4 on goals)

Once again, organizers proved there is a strong partnership bewteen FISTF and WASPA and consolation events were held under WASPA banner. Scotland’s and Golazzo’s Marco Bevilacqua defeated Craig Heward (Yorkshire) on shots in the Plate final while Malta’s Gabriel Ebejer (Bormla) took the best against Brendan Ashley (London Road/Yorkshire) in the Shield final. -
