Provisional applications for the construction of the 2024-2025 calendar

You will find HERE  the dates received from some countries regarding their applications for the 2024-2025 events.

NO EVENT IS CONFIRMED UNTIL THE OFFICIAL CALENDAR IS COMMUNICATED BY FISTF

This file will be updated every week

As mentioned in the Handbook and the FORM04, 3 possible dates per event are requested in order to build a calendar as balanced as possible.

Following the letter already sent to MNAs on June 23, 2024, we remind you that In accordance with section 2.7 of the draft FISTF Official Handbook for season 2024-25, the FISTF Board is pleased to invite each MNA to submit Form 04, the form to request a FISTF event, for Major Grand Prix, Golden Grand Prix, Grand Prix, International Open and Satellite tournaments
for the 2024–25 competition season, which will run from September 1, 2024 to August 31, 2025.

The deadline for submission of forms is 11.59pm Paris time on Friday, August 4, 2024. However, to build the calendar for next season as quickly as possible and in this way help players and organisers to plan their trips and the organisation, among other things, of national events, MNAs need not wait until August 4 to submit their forms. Please submit your requests as soon as they are ready.

Please note the following important points:
– Form 04 can only be submitted by MNAs and not by individual tournament organisers or clubs.
– The form is downloadable from the FISTF website: https://fistf.com/technicalpages/documents-library/. Please note that an individual form must be submitted for eachevent being requested. For European events, Form 04 asks tournament organisers/MNAs to suggest THREE (3) dates in order of preference for each tournament. In this way, if several tournaments
are proposed for the same date by different MNAs, the Board will apply the dates flexibly for a better balance in the construction of the calendar.
– It is not necessary for MNAs to submit a form for events taking place after 1 September 2024 which have previously been approved by the FISTF Board (unless the organiser wishes to change the date or the venue of the already approved event).
– Tournaments already approved to take place after 1 September 2024 will count towards each MNA’s total allocation of tournaments for the 2024-25 season that is, one Grand Prix, one Golden Grand Prix (if applicable), two International Opens and three Satellites. For example, an MNA with one International Open already approved in the FISTF calendar will only be able to apply for an additional one International Open in season 2024-25.

In the interests of managing the calendar effectively, including avoiding clashes of larger tournaments, the rules for construction of the FISTF calendar set out in section 2.7 of the FISTF Official Handbook will be strictly applied. These include:

The deadlines for requesting events:
Grand Prix – 4 months before the date of the tournament,
International Opens – 2 months before the date of the tournament,
Satellite Tournaments – 2 weeks before the date of the tournament.

Avoiding clashes of all Grand Prix events with other tournaments.
In Europe, the third weekend every month (except for June, July, and August) should be free of Major, Grand Prix and International Open tournaments. Only Satellite tournaments can be scheduled for the third weekend of a month in Europe.

While organisers in Europe are required to provide three dates in order of preference that would suit them for each tournament, tournaments proposed to take place on the same date as in previous years as a first preference are more likely to be approved.

Once completed, each Form 04 must be signed and submitted by the MNA to the FISTF Sports Director at https://fistf.com/contact/contact-fistf-for-operations-sportcalendar-rankings/. Please do not email the form to the Board or to an individual Board member.

Any Form 04 received after 4 August or not sent according to the methods indicated above will not be considered valid.
The draft calendar for season 2024 – 25 (showing tournaments which have already been approved) will be available at FISTF.com shortly and will be updated from time to time. The first version of the full FISTF calendar for season 2024–25 will be published no later than 18 August 2024, and will be updated on a monthly basis thereafter as additional tournament applications are received and approved.

The FISTF Board reserves the right to communicate any assignments prior to 18 August.

With kindest regards, FISTF Board

Changes to the world rankings at the end of June

Despite the rigor and the requirement that I demonstrate, following an encoding oversight on my part for the “Under” categories for the Milan Major, the world ranking has just been updated so that the order of players qualified for the next Eland Cables FISTF World Cup in England is correct.

The changes are as follows:
U12:
Alberto Capoferri moves from 4th to 2nd position
Athanasios Kotrotsos moves from 2nd to 3rd position
Michalis Chiotis moves from 3rd to 4th position
Alberto Baratucci moves from 11th to 6th position
Apollon Dimakeas moves from 6th to 7th position
Gabriel Bento moves from 7th to 8th position

U16:
Lorenzo Fricano moves from 10th to 7th position
Angelo Bisio moves from 7th to 8th position

I apologize for my mistake.

A wind of freshness is hovering over Belgium!

The work is starting to pay off in Belgium!

Because of the development work of belgian Federation and some of its clubs, during the same week-end of belgian championships for teams, a national U12 tournament was taking place.

Romain Joris (ELM’Aye SC) won against Adam Guyaux (US Huy) in the final. The semi-finalists are Martin Joris (ELM’Aye SC) and Mael Denne (SC Lion’s Eugies). 5th Sophia Grosdent (Wamme SC), 6th Mathis Joachim (ELM’Aye SC) , 7th Giulian Frebutte (SC Lion’s Eugies) and 8th Dinio Timpano (SC Lion’s Eugies).
We note the arrival of 2 new players in the U12 category.

In the same dynamic, Belgium is proud to see these young people getting involved. The creation of a youth committee was carried out within the FBFTS-BSTVB.

The FISTF is happy to see this type of initiative! Congratulations!

Temploux wins his first Belgian championship title and makes the cup-championship double!

This weekend took place the Belgian Division 1 and 2 championships for teams.

It was a success on all levels, both for the young people and for the committed but very respectful atmosphere.

SC Temploux made the double by winning the Belgian Cup against SC Charleroi and the Division 1 championship ahead of Avenir Subbuteo Hennuyer and SC Charleroi. A great first victory for SC Temploux in the championship at the end of a very close 2nd round.

Note the withdrawal of JSC Rochefort while they were in the lead after the first leg and the participation of a mixed team from ST Stembert, named “The TCHArbarians”,for this occasion, (made up of former players of the club, youth and women) in order to facilitate the organization of a championship composed of nine teams. The Tcharbarians’ matches, despite having the same number of virtual points as the champion as well as SC Lion’s Eugies and Avenir Subbuteo Hennuyer, were not counted.

In second division, SC Lion’s Eugies B are champions ahead of Avenir Subbuteo Hennuyer B and SC Temploux B.

Well done everyone for the good mood of each of you !

Victories on all counts for the organizing club of Kent Invicta TFC !

As usual, the tournaments in England were a great success. This was once again the case for this Kent Satellite!

Kye Arnold of local Kent Invicta TFC emerged in the Open category final against Panos Stemitsiotis (ENG/Harrow Hawks TSC). Paul Andreas and Neil Doherty, both players of the Wobbly Hobby Subbuteo Club (ENG), saw their path stopped in the semi-finals.

In U20, an all-Kent final between Connor Gregory and Hadley Chapman saw the former win by the narrowest margin.

Kent Invicta TFC wins its three victories and takes the winner’s trophy of the team competition.

Mark Gauci, Pasquale Torano, Noah Janssens claim Maltese Grand Prix ! Valletta SC consolidates his domination on the Land of Honey !

After a long period without a victory, Mark Gauci (MLT/Valletta SC) won the title against the man in form of the moment, Bessim Golger (BEL/Bormla SC), after a spectacular final.
The semi-finalists were the two former ST Stembert players, Jean Tabone (MLT/Barcellona Mortellito) and Jurgen Balzan (MLT/Valletta SC).

In the veterans category, the member of Leonessa 2004 Brescia (ITA), Pasquale Torano, was uncompromising on the grounds of Charlie Aquilina (MLT/Bormla SC) by taking victory.
Jason Pisani (MLT/Bormla SC) and Massimiliano Croatti (ITA/Master Sanremo) complete the last four.

In U20, it was ultimately the promising Belgian Noah Janssens (BEL/Wamme SC) who won on goal difference ahead of Thomas Ebejer (MLT/Bormla SC). The two young athletes were unable to decide between themselves in their direct confrontation which ended with a score of 1-1.

The team competition once again saw the supremacy of Valletta SC ahead of rival club Bormla.
A performance to be highlighted because Valletta SC won its five matches without conceding any individual defeat.
The Crimson Horses club from Greece and Valletta Lions TFC finished 3rd and 4th in the competition, ahead of the two friendly teams from H’Attard SC.
