Winning return for the Glide, Slide, Dip & Chip Club!

In a lower than usual turnout at the first English International Open of the season in Enderby didn’t diminish a great weekend of play as some great individual performances and a triumphant return to action for the GSDC Club provided a hugely entertaining event.

A small field took to the tables in the Open category which saw an excellent 1-0 win for England’s Rudi Peterschinigg against Portugal’s Paolo Gouveia. The Veterans category had some great action resulting in Italy’s Claudio Dogali defeating England’s Dave Pawsey 2-0 in a great final.
In the junior categories, it was all Kent and England players battling for the trophies as Joseph Kinrade won the Under 15’s with a 5-0 win over Finnley Taylor whilst Joshua Foreman won his first Under 12’s title 2-1 with a golden goal winner over Conor Atkin.

The Team event saw a reduced field but still a very competitive tournament was played resulting in the Glide, Slide, Dip & Chip returning to the English game with some silverware. In the 5 team league, GSDC came top with 4 wins from 4 games with London & Essex Utd taking the Runners Up spot. Scotland’s Dundee Utd grabbed third place with Yorkshire Phoenix and Kent Invicta in 4th & 5th respectively.
